These are read to symbolize the importance nurses have in the lives of our patients and the differences we make every time we step into the lives of our patients.

A Nurses Prayer

The Nurses Prayer is read with any nurse or nursing student in attendance standing. With this prayer we are asking for the strength that enables us to be what our patients need us to be.

Final Call to Duty

The nurses name is read then a triangle is rung. This is done three times to symbolize a nurses final call bell.

White Rose Ceremony

A designated nurse or nurses in attendance, are asked to place a white rose on the casket or urn of the deceased. The rose symbolizes a nurses compassion and unwavering devotion to duty.

The Nightingale Lamp

The nightingale lamp, symbolizing knowledge, is extinguished and given to a family member or friend.
