Who we are

The Clearfield County Nurses Honor Guard is made up of active or retired LPNs, RNs, and APRNs who have or had a nursing license in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. The honor guard nurses volunteer their time to perform tributes to deceased nurses as well as those nearing the end of their lives. Each tribute is provided free of charge to the family. Each member of the honor guard wear white scrubs or white scrub dress, white shoes, white cap and a navy and red cape. The ceremony performed by the honor guard lasts roughly eight minutes. Honor guard members are also able to stand as a silent vigil near the casket or urn, exchanging with other guard members every fifteen minutes, act as honorary pall bearers, and accompany the casket or urn to its final resting place, as requested by the family.
